Thanks, zarguy . Then the only step of yours that I'm not doing is the rounding of the bezel. I can see how that helps with ensuring a “flatter” bezel, as well as making the sanding a little faster and perhaps more even. The rounding can also help somewhat to ensure that bezel fit isn't too tight after soldering, something I occasionally have to deal with. I'll have to try your rounding prior to sanding step — thank you, Lynn. Gary Question: doesn't forming the sanded bezel around the stone disturb the level of the sanded edge? Do you have to do a light resanding after forming?

I had a great show! I didn't sell any of the 6 new pendants I showed here, but sold plenty of other pieces.
Fri morning I had a woman come by about 15 mins into the show & buy 3 of my silver smithed pendants. She bought Indian Blanket jasper, Holt Canyon agate, & Hell's Canyon Pet Wood.
She had recently moved to St. George Utah from Michigan & has fallen in love with the local rocks. She had been hounding at Holt Canyon, but didn't find anything awesome. I gave her directions to where I hound. She'll probably join our club too. Lynn

Nicely done!
I do a lot of this style of pendant also, they sell amazing well.
Any chance I can get a peek at your backs and where your bail is joined? Do you ever saw out the backs? At what point/size does this make since to you?
Thanks,

Great work & a lovely selection of cabs! I also liked your economy in fitting the cabs to the silver in cutting the bases. Lovely economy right there! It’s an under appreciated skill of it’s own.

Great work & a lovely selection of cabs! I also liked your economy in fitting the cabs to the silver in cutting the bases. Lovely economy right there! It’s an under appreciated skill of it’s own. Thanks for noticing that. My Dad was a high school art teacher. He told me about a student who wanted to cut out something from a larger piece of leather. The kid stuck the template right in the middle of the leather, traced around it and was ready to cut it out. My Dad stopped the kid, pointing out that the larger piece was big enough to cut out a few of the shapes, but cut from the middle would only yield one piece. I learned from that story. I see people show a bezel soldered smack dab in the middle of a square of silver sheet, ensuring that rest of the sheet will just be scraps. And then they ask, How much does Rio pay for scrap? The answer: Less that you paid for it in the first place. Lynn - the penny pincher, and proud of it!
