What are you using on the fire agate now to cut it? I bought a little polishing kit with some diamond blades for my dremel. Problem is the Chinese dont know how to measure so even though it says 1/8th shaft it is not. Tad small I used it anyways and it worked, but not ideal. Nothing like having a loose saw blade spinning around I'll go buy real Dremel ones this weekend

Depending on what model you have, you might want to get one of these adjustable checks for your Dremel. Then you don't have to worry as much about shank size and they're inexpensive. Just make sure it will work with your model.
There are plenty of sets of cheap diamond bits (I'm sure made in China) on Ebay. I've bought them before and they work fine. They come in different grits, so I would probably get 400 or 600 and higher to work fire agate. Make sure you use them with water so they last as long as possible. A small tub of water that you can dip the fire agate in as you're working it to cool it off and to dip the bit in to keep it cool and remove the rock schmutz from in between the diamonds works ok.

I have the 4200 quick change, so that wont work. I cannot change the collet on it and cannot for the life of me figure out how to attach the flex shaft. I got it on, but it doesn't seem to be spinning right
I am going to call Dremel and see if they can help me
Those Nova points are exactly what I need and they are cheaper there than on the other site I found them on.
Thank you!

Actually the metal part that was suppose to be attached to the dremel is inside the plastic piece. I'll be calling them Monday

That could have been a lot worse. Dremel should send you a new one.

Oh boy, that blows. You're lucky it didn't catch on fire while you were using it! Hope they replace it for you.

Those are great for first ones of this material. You really brought the fire to the surface.

You did great on those for your first ones. You even found PURPLE! I'm impressed. I have some sitting here somewhere that I got years ago and have never quite been brave enough to try to cut them. I'm such a ninny. Now I'm going to have to dig them out and see if I can cut anything without killing it.
Maybe get some of that alligator tape to wrap around your fingers if you're going to cab those little guys freehand.

I wont lie, I squealed like a girl when I hit that purple and then prayed like crazy I didnt lose it
The tape is a great idea!
Mission tomorrow, get the dremel replaced
I see the benefits of using that over the arbor
And I am getting the one Nate suggested as well

I plan on getting some finger cots to wear. About 1" long. For those who have never heard the term, they are the little pieces of rubber with nubbies on them. Shaped like the end of a glove. Main use is to assist in turning pieces of paper or sliding paper into plastic menus. Thinking these would help protect fingers and also provide added grip.
