I'd certainly suspect wavellite. Looks like it has the acicular form, though the radiating xtls are less defined and splintery than what I'm used to seeing. I haven't, however, seen any Irish wavellite before (though it certainly occurs in the south part of the island).

Agree with @rocks2dust looks like it but doesn't quite have the radial patterns I am use to.

Have you considered Smithsonite or Hemimorphite?

Just helping a friend Have you examined it yourself or did your friend give you the image and perform the scratch test? it looks pretty well water/glacial worn. Cant see any surface detail in the image is there any druzy quartz on it?

Here's a Mindat link that indicates Prehnite is found in Ireland. No photos of material from there, though.

Good luck with your search for a definitive ID.

I think to get that identified would require a close look by a mineral expert, a photo isn't going to get him/her anywhere.

It looks very similar to a sample I found once in an abandoned quarry in Minnesota, which I had ID'd as prehnite.
Also, regarding the darker green stuff, I've seen many prehnite specimens associated with dark green epidote in a way that looks very similar to your piece, at least color-wise.
