Writing was on the slab when I got it. Not sure I can cut this cause it’s just too pretty. And thick.

Eh, Chapenite I think. That bit near the bottom right looks a lot like Youngite, but I think chapenite gets that look too sometimes, and the "bits" are bigger than usually in youngite. Somebody else will know better though, I'm not a chapenite officianado.

The crystal pockets suggest Youngite

Looks a lot like both, but I would say youngite based on the colors, pattern and crystals. The chapenite I've had didn't have such saturated color.

Agree on Youngite, but can see where they are a lot alike.

If you have a black light, see if it fluoresces. Youngite if it does.

Chapenite Agate/Jsaper is known to have been mined in the Mojave Calif. Fort Irwin area.......considered a Mojave rare. A buddy of mine has a few pieces like those posted here, say's only an experienced eye and knowing exactly where access to it can be found....not a simple task or a "hobby" rock hunt endeavor.
Youngite Agate/Jasper....known to have been mined in Wyoming....another rare that has restrictions to it's access and seems to no longer be mined as a commercial bi-product within the Youngite Caves near Guernsey, Wyoming......My Utah rockhound buddies who have visited Guernsey say it's nearly impossible to access anymore......we've had conversations in the past about it being a "buck-list" find......maybe now only a wish list dreamer.
Regardless.......certainly seems to be a rare and worth treating with care and precision......!

Thanks!! I acquired a considerable variety of material by purchasing by mixes lot rather than by the piece. My first lot was a 10 lb box of slab trimmings. This was so fun to begin with. I wanted to try as many things as I possibly could to see what I liked. It was a great idea.

I'd lean towards chapenite from outside the classic sites, maybe down near Hector Hills way which is less fancy than the Ft. Irwin stuff, or even some of the similar stuff from Burro creek, AZ. Youngite, to me, is usually more botryoidal, more frosted with small crystals and way more vuggy....Mel

I have both yellow and pink youngite like are in your piece. Very nice. The pattern is very different than chapenite. I would agree with those above that say youngite.
