Mine seem to cut square, but the shears are bulky at the head and that interferes with my view of the metal, so it's hard to line up the cutting edge with my mark. And it's hard to hold the curving bezel wire down against the thingymajiggy. Not a big improvement over my dental scissors, unfortunately, but not bad enough to send back.
Somebody just needs to manufacture a mini guillotine shear. Stick the bezel strip in until your mark emerges from the other side, squeeze it closed, and voila, square end.
I only tried it on one pendant though, to be fair.

Thanks! I’m going to put a strip of 24 gauge copper in my purse along with a T square, and find a little paper cutter.
