Hxtal (used by glass conservators) and a couple of other epoxies in recent years will not yellow. Actually, Hxtal (and I suspect others) does yellow. Adding extra UV and other inhibitors does slow the process more than other epoxies, but the inhibitors eventually degrade. The yellowing was noted by British Museum conservators in their own accelerated aging tests. The 80+ years history of epoxy resins are littered with "non-yellowing" and similar claims that have failed over the long term. Conservators regularly undo the restoration "best technologies" applied by the previous generation of conservators. It is profitable to make such claims because few will come back in 5, 10 or more years to provide proof of purchase for a refund. Even glass changes color over time - depending on conditions, it can be observed within months.

I would suggest using Hxtal. Heat the stone under a lamp until it's too hot to touch. Use a toothpick to apply Hxtal along the fracture. Put it back under the lamp for a couple of hours to cure. It will soak in & make the fracture invisible. I wouldn't worry about yellowing, since it's only a fracture, not a large space being filled. Lynn
