We just got my daughter a Rolling Stones Rock Tumbler. It’s a kids version, but supposed to work just as well. The barrel keeps stopping rotating. The rubber ring keeps sliding off. That’s what makes it turn. Directions said the put a tiny bit of Vaseline on the pegs (which we did). However, I don’t think that’s the issue, though I dunno. How do I keep the rubber part on the turner?

Try belt dressing ... it comes in a spray can and will make your rubber ring sticky. You can get it at automotive supply stores.

Hi is it the rubber O-ring that goes inside the barrel to keep it from leaking or the rubber drive wheel that has a screw that can be tightened to attach or loosen to remove be sure the only place the vaseline is, is on the o-ring to keep it from leaking water cause if you get any type of oil on barrel it will slip where it touches rubber drive wheel I had a few of these as a child and they wore out quite quickly I would have been better off getting the Thumler model T or similar as all the parts are easily replaceable and quite reliable

Also tumbler could be overloaded, but I think the others are probably right.

Those tumblers are a major pain in the can. A real one, like the Lortone, is much less noisy, much less trouble, not a whole lot more expensive, last for decades and yields superior results.
Also the instructions on the toy ones are usually really unrealistic. Unless you are using really soft stones, there is no way that a week will be sufficient in the coarse or medium grit.

How do I keep the rubber part on the turner? Also check your screw for the lid, make sure it isn't upsidedown that could also stop it from turning. I had mine upside down when doing the grit #2 and my barrel wasn't tumbling. Couldn't figure it out, hubby did! LOL
