And once it reaches the groundwater, there's no remedy: a precious resource gone. It isn't only mining, either. Agri-business and even people's addiction to perfect lawns and golf courses also are causing major problems in many areas.

I knew about that Colorado Gold Mine Superfund tailing fiasco They probably collapsed it on purpose What else can you do ?
Make corporations spend millions of dollar on R & D to figure out how to remove healthily ? Anathama !
But I really had no idea how much tailings these mines produced
(and are they toxic? … well--- that deep--- but only by a little-- depending on what litmus test you use)
Until I saw that Brazil disaster

We have to figure out better more sustainable ways to provide for the comfort & eco nomic success for the 7 billion & growing population
