I just rejoined OMGS (Oklahoma Mineral & Gem Society) after an absence of 20 years, some things have changed & I seem to have forgotten most of what I thought I knew about rocks. So far, I've used the club's equipment to cut two stones (the first stones I've cut in 20 years) & things are slowly coming back to me (re-awakening old knowledge) & I'm learning NEW stuff. Most of my old Lapidary equipment needs refurbishing, repairing, or completely rebuilding. So I'll probably be doing a whole lot of reading here & over on HomeMadeTools.net (which is where I was when one of their blog entries pointed me here)

A European welcome from this side! Make sure to share your knowledge with us. It's not so rare that a few old tricks or practices get forgotten, but they could still be very useful today.
