melhill1659 you did an amazing job repairing that stone! If I hadn't seen it before you fixed it, I would be really hard pressed to say that was a "fix". Great job and I'm sure you'll be accepted into the Guild without a doubt. The bracelet is gorgeous!

Beautiful work! You're a very quick study...it wasn't long ago you were just beginning this craft. You've progressed amazingly fast. I'm sure your Guild acceptance is a slam dunk. If not there's something wrong with the jury.

I think if the jury were to see the before and after of the repair they would be impressed.

I think if the jury were to see the before and after of the repair they would be impressed. That would be great if they would except such things but nope. I did tell them I’ve only been doing this a little over a year.

This project was hard! Like everyone’s awesome pieces on this forum. It’s the threads I read about new cabochons, newly wrapped cabs, great tumbles, stone carvings, rock hunts, ovens blowing up trying heat treating... All of you guys have really made it possible for me to strive to learn and do new things daily!!! We all grow with over coming our failures and helping our friends out of their own. So I want to Thank all of you for your years, months, weeks or maybe just days of support and helping others when your lives are just as hectic as mine. Now to get back to creating and trying new things. I want to get this electro etching down so I can make my own pattern plates, I want to play around with my sand casting stuff that’s been in a drawer for ever and make a hard setting for a special cab I made a while back with my new Hammer foredom hand piece 😂 I’m dying to use it!
