A friend of mine just sent me a couple photos of 3 Sears brand tumblers she dug out of her attic. Not a lot of detail, but the barrels look very similar to Lortone?
Anyone know anything about these? I'm assuming they were rebranded, since that's what Sears did with a lot of things? Anyone know who made them?

Heh, a very quick search reveals images of Sears tumblers that look like Lortone, Thumblers, and possibly a third. Guess I'll have to be less lazy and get more info ETA: Found a lot of good info in a couple old threads here. Thanks anyway.

I have several Sears tumblers . The most popular is The 6 lb Box type. The one with the steel Drums were made By Star diamond, , , Craftool I think most of the 12 lb machine steel drum was made be Highland park or scott murray I also have 4 of the 6 lb with the rubber drum. these were made by star diamond. They were blue in Color with a Blue cove. The older ones which I have is a Belt Drivem. Belts you can still get .The later model which looks the same is Plastic Gear driven. These are Junk. Most If not all all parts can be gotten @ Small Hardware stores. or McMaster-Carr.

To my knowledge, Sears never manufactured anything. I once purchased 25 MK 4" tile saws at a really low price to find out later they all had the Craftsman logos. Star Diamond made a lot of their equipment. I think Lortone bought out the Star Diamond tumbler lines before going under. MK/BD never did get any Star Diamond tumblers or vibe laps so they think those lines were sold off before they bought them.

This is something New, since My last post , I have found another Box type 6 Lb tumbler. Not Sears But Montgomery Ward. I know Both companies never made anything except to there specs. The difference Between the 2 is in the Box itself. The Ward's Is the same size as the Sears but weighs 2 Lb heavier and The entire 4 sides and Top are Louvered For motor ventilation I was trying to post a pfoto but Unable
