Hello Everyone,
Sulkycrown, here in southern coastal Mississippi! I found this forum while researching on Mississippi agates. I had been doing research on opals for a personal project and my two oldest daughters became interested in geology, rocks, and lapidary things. I had purchased a Lortone dual tumbler and three kinds of rough materials from Asia, Madagascar, and Brazil along with some North American rough which came with the tumbler.
At this point my daughters asked about my own childhood experiences with rockhounding in my gravel driveway as a kid. I told them about the Mississippi agates and fossils I collected as a kid. At which point I took them fossil and Mississippi agate hunting in gravel driveway material.
Wa-la! Here I am.
I look forward to learning and participating on this forum.

Welcome from Virginia! I'm glad you found us. We have some of the world's best tumblers here and they are always happy to meet new tumblers.

Thanks for the warm welcome. There are not a lot of rocks to look at here in Mississippi except for the gravel mines and the materials that are sluiced separating out the sand and gravel. Lots of sand here in Mississippi goes to support the fracking for black gold / oil.
