So last night I checked my UV10 vibe prior to sleep and sprayed 3 shots of water but when I smelled WD-40 thought "Oh no what have I done!". I have a spray bottle of WD-40 for cleaning up my tumbling table close to the vibe and grabbed it instead of the water bottle. Ok how do I recover from this? Then I thought I'm doing my stage 3/prepolish clean out in the morning anyways so I'll just leave it and see what happens...maybe I'll accidentally stumble on a miracle shine or lubricant that will revolutionize the tumbling world! So this morning I go to do the clean out and the action has totally stopped ..."Uh Oh, not good" I thought Because this is only my second vibe batch I was interested seeing why the action stopped and it wasn't until I was cleaning out the bowl i found out why... the WD-40 reacted with the borax, grit, water or plastic bowl and created a slimy glue on the insides of the bowl. Little wonder why no action! It took a bit of scrubbing with dish soap and hot water to get it all out and it looked and felt clean clean but my "Negative Nellie" brain was hoping the WD-40 hadn't penetrated the inner walls and if so will it happen again in stage 4? I don't think so but I'll be monitoring closely going forward. I set up the polish stage and the action is good so far...fingers crossed. 100% true story and the WD-40 is now on the other side of the room

braatGood learning experience Glen. LOL! A little warm water and dish soap will clean that up just fine. Not sure if the pre-polish was affected in a negative manner... Everything is most probably OK, but if the duration of the pre-polish was cut short by the lubrication, it can always be run again. Let us know how the polish goes.
