It's back. We're under a blizzard warning for today and tomorrow with expected storm totals of 10-20". I know it won't last long but I'm kind of over it at this point.

Like I said, though, it won't last long. Last year we had a blizzard on Mother's Day. You really can't count on it being totally done with snow here until June. But it's ok. I'll probably knock off of work early today and spend some time doing rock stuff in the garage.

I've never lived anywhere that didn't have winter, but somewhere like Arizona is looking pretty good right now!

In 2014 a lot of our region got 7 feet of snow within a 48 hour period. A week later temps were in the 60's. The creeks loved it, the people who live near the creeks not so much. Take it easy out there! Al

Oh jeez, enough with the snow already! You've had enough. Stay warm and don't shovel too much. Wet snow is good for heart attacks and blown backs.

Stay safe. I am getting blasted too, but not as bad. 8" snow 50 MPH winds and .35" of ice predicted.
I do think the thunder snow is kinda cool.

Thunder as been brought up I can mention a wild novel about the Anazasi Indian ruins & Coronado quest for Quivera The lost city of gold And that quest historically took him all the way to Kansas because mostly the Indians wanted him to get out of dodge Anyway this archaeological team backback into the Canyonlands of Utah O they find the city & they find the gold Sort of... Actually its sort of like baked pottery fools gold which sums up the archaeological team But that another story Well wroth reading on cold hard to hound days...

Read the new article in the New Yorker by Douglas Preston - www.newyorker.com/magazine/2019/04/08/the-day-the-dinosaurs-died - They've found a site in North Dakota in the Hell Creek formation. It documents the half hour after the meteor right at the K-T boundary. The holy grail of fossil sites.

I've read a bunch of them, including the Pendergast series, but I don't recall reading this one. I'll have to remedy that. Thanks for the heads up, Ed!
