Thanks everyone. Obsidian seemed like a difficult tumble when I started but I feel like I’m getting a good recipe down.

Looks great! Lot-O seems to make obsidian pretty easy, dunnit?

Also, your pictures are phenomenal! I'd love to know what your setup is to take pictures. Is that something you've posted before?

I bet there are some photography write ups here if I searched. It almost looks like a light box was used. I think a GREY background is used, rather than plain white (as it appears also). If you PM aDave, and ask, I bet he knows the right formula. He consistently comes up with great photos. ON Topic: These are great examples of what Obsidian can be. I like all varieties. But yours are more interesting to me because there is so much Brown (or rust) color infused with the Black. Also the shapes are interesting, and none seem to have blemishes either. Great job getting a polish on them too! Thanks for sharing Grant. I'm going to have to lookup "Mahogany Obsidian" to see where I can pick up some of these too some day.

NevadaBill The Little Red Store used to have it. I meant to buy some before I got distracted by other rocks and bought them first. Al

Those are great, Grant, and the photos are really good too. I find obsidian hard to photograph.

Great job! I still struggle with my Lot-o and obsidian. I am trying to get a handle on how much grit and water to use. I feel like I never get the ratio right and it turns into thick sludge too quickly. JP
