Just want to add that holding the slab up to the monitor confirms that the colors in the pictures are very accurate.

Looks to me like Bull Canyon moss agate. Very attractive! I think you nailed it. I had a small piece before but it was mostly red/yellowish-brown with a touch of green. I can see the similarities now that you named it, don't think I would have gotten it by myself, thanks! Doing a google search lead to some very drool worthy pictures of this material. Al Edit: While I now believe that this is "Calico Lace" as captbob points out below thanks are still in order. As I was searching for Bull Canyon Agate last night I came across some reasonably priced pieces that are much nicer than the one we had so it was still a fruitful search as my empty pockets can verify. It is from Chihuahua, Mexico and I would bet this week's beer allowance on my ID guess.

That was my first guess, too. But I haven't seen bull canyon moss.

Never doubt me IF I am willing to bet the beer money! I think your money is safe. After looking at many images I did find a few that were dead ringers. Also saw many that I would have never thought were related labeled "Calico Lace". It is amazing how much a named material can vary. In all honesty ID'ing is the single hardest thing I have come across in this hobby. Just when I get an idea/picture in my mind what a material looks like somebody posts something with the same name that looks completely different. Fun in a maddening kind of way. I am grateful that I get to benefit from all of the experience here. Thanks for the help Bob! Al

It's calcico lace. Not many rocks have that color profile and formation.
