I am new to this forum. Hoping to learn a lot from all of you. I am building a small (up to 3") sphere machine. Starting in rock tumbling also. Question: My little 3-pound Thumbler AR-1 tumbler barrel leaks a little at the lid and recently the lid came off and spilled my batch on the floor. Does anyone know of a better design that will fit this machine? Regards

Call Shaun at the Rock Shed. He sells the Thumbler brand and should be able to help you.

Tons of info to be found here, both currently and going back many years. 2) We have had an AR-2 running 24/7 for eight months now and only had one tiny leak due to gas buildup in one barrel. The pressure built up inside caused a little bit of slurry to be pushed out and most of it actually dried up around the seal. This can also occur with other style barrels as well. A couple months back one of our 6 lb. Lortone barrels had the same issue when we were running glass. While both instances were limited to very minor leaks they easily could have been full blowouts if the pressure inside were allowed to keep building. If you are experiencing regular leaks you probably either have a fitment issue with your barrel/lid/O-ring or perhaps the shoulder of the inner barrel where the lid rests is not perfectly clean. Al
