Don’t know much about it. A friend gave me one like yours (same brand) when he moved. It worked, but I wasn’t really interested in shapes, so I gave it to a friend. I’ve heard it is an excellent brand.

Yeah, the Gryphon is slower than a trim saw, but it cuts with less waste, closer to your line, and less grinding is needed to finish shaping the preform. No mess either, use it on the kitchen table if you want. Nice tool to have for a third saw.

Thanks Pat Glad you have good things to say about it. I've read good things on AMAZON Reading The Reviews there were a couple that complained but mostly all the rest were good and there were a few that Used it and were stained glass people and used it and swore by it. They also make a Ring Saw that has more reviews. Well anyways Its always good to hear what others have experienced from using it. Thanks ~Duke

At the time, I had an Inland band saw. As newbies, we bought it during our first trip to Quartzite. It was a piece of junk. Friend and I fixed it, but we’re spending more time fixing than cutting. Gave to same friend who had spent a lot of time with it.
The Gryphon never had a problem.
I think you will enjoy your new saw.

We have both the band saw and a Taurus ring saw. Both are very useful. parfive is absolutely correct on the feather light touch! If you push either one too hard the replacement parts are a little expensive. I mostly use the Gryphon on softer materials. Love the precision. It is great for maximizing yield. We don't have the Taurus set up in a dedicated space so it only gets set up when we want to do something that being able to cut in any direction is a benefit. Enjoy your new saw!

I purchased this to make crosses. I know you can make a jig to do it, but I didn't think that saw gave me much room.
