So I had a water main break yesterday. 60 foot highly pressurized geyser throwing softball sized rocks over my house, roof and into windows. Lots of water dmg - I expect to be out of the house 4-6 weeks for repairs. Could always be worse. Edit - tiny video link at the end of the picture shows the beastly waterfall.

Oh My. Glad no one was injured. The house/water main can be repaired. 4-6 weeks is a long time.

Holy cow! There are easier ways to clean the windows ya know. Why 4-6 weeks? Was there water damage inside? Best of luck getting life back to normal ASAP

Looks like a fishing pole in-hand in the first picture. Catch anything? Bystanders showing the size of the catch?

Geez, Grant. What is the size of the line to your house? That's amazing. I guess I won't complain any longer about the slab leak we had earlier this year. Good luck.

Jeez! Not a good time at all! I was going to ask if you at least found any good rocks but Pat beat me to it. Glad it wasn't worse, Grant, hopefully it gets fixed soon.

Holy cow! There are easier ways to clean the windows ya know. Why 4-6 weeks? Was there water damage inside? Best of luck getting life back to normal ASAP We had roughly 150-200k dmg to the house from water yes. All 3 floors. Stinky. Could def be worse. It sucked watching it pummel my house for 90 min waiting for the water company to show up.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and sentiments. I appreciate it more than you know. We are all safe and things are fixable over time. It could be worse by far!

Shoulda parked your car (the cheapest one!) on top of the geyser. But who thinks like that at the time.

Wow! That is a lot of damage. There as no shut off valve at the street? Shut off involved 3 mains. Firemen can’t shut them off only the water company. Stinky. It was an 8 inch main with a 3 inch hole
