If that area is the old Sterling Borax mine, is Tick Canyon still a good place to find Agate and Howlite deposits worth hunting......? We are going to be in that area (Santa Clarita/Saugus) next month for a friends daughter wedding. It is. However, I've never been. Tick Cyn Howlite is the classic source but I'm told that there is none left. And I didn't even know it had agate. Lol Lemme know and we can meetup The agate "so they say" is found in bedrock sources along the canyon ridges.........small feldspar embedded within other mineral content, I've seen recent photo's (2017) from a visit the local club made......haven't touched one yet.......lol We'll see. The wife hasn't decided whether the trip will be a turn-a-round or if we will spend a couple of days....! Thanks for the invite.

Feldspar is formed in an acidic environment. Agate in a basic environment. Lemme know if/when a meetup is possible!
