Had two 3 lb. barrels running that both needed clean outs. Was planning on moving the contents of one barrel to a 1 lb. barrel. Starting a new batch in a 3 lb. barrel. I dropped the 1 lb. barrel. It had the washer and nut in it. The nut rolled under my dryer. So much for that idea. Noticed the nut on one barrel was loose. Discovered the threads on the nut are stripped. So, I am down to one nut for 3 barrels. Just ordered 3 nuts, so I will have a spare. All that is running now are agates in rough. Oh well.

Ouch. I have a small magnetic tool on what looks like a broomstick. Great for finding missing nuts, screws, etc.

I have one of those, too. It is too large to fit under the dryer.

Could take the lid to the hardware store and see if they have a nut that fits , I think it is metric . Could get ya rolling quicker .
The nut on the HF is brass , magnet no good .

I dropped the nut from my Lortone tumbler in the garage, I could see where it fell, but after 15 minutes I still could not find it and gave up. For a coupla months I would still look around and see if I could spot it, but no. I ordered and received a new nut. Two months after I lost it, I found it 4 feet away behind a door frame under a coupla dried leaves.

That is always the surest way to find a lost item - buy a new one, lol.

This post reminds me that my wife has been asking me to move our dryer to get at all the things that have been lost behind it. It will also give me an opportunity to clean the duct. A different kind of treasure hunt. I guess I should get off the internet and get at it.

I found some washers at the hardware store. I have spare nuts, though, because they always roll under something.

I have many spare washers, thankfully. They have a tendency to bounce on the concrete floor.
