This is a video that I made a few weeks ago. It's an island near my house that's about a mile offshore in Lake Huron. There are some very interesting rocks there.

Thanks! Have you ever seen the inside of any of those “petrified mud bubbles “?

Interesting trip. Are there any smaller mud balls?

Thanks! Have you ever seen the inside of any of those “petrified mud bubbles “? Nope. Some people on YouTube said that concretions can sometimes contain fossils. Fossils are very common here, so unless it was something very unusual, that wouldn’t be a big thrill. I think they’re really cool just the way they are, so I wouldn’t want to break them.

The water is so clear... and it looks cold, too. I cringed a little when you stuck your red leg in there! Thanks for posting the video. The concretions are cool.

I agree, they are cool as is. However, I would want to open up one of them --- perhaps an smaller one. Curiosity!

I'd like a couple of those concretions to pile my Lake Superior concretions around .

If there were smaller ones, I'd do the same. I only saw huge ones though. Maybe I'll have to go back next summer and do some snorkeling.
