This one set me back a whole dollar. If anyone knows what it is, please let me know. I cut it up and started working it today, everything was brown- including my fingers! Thanks!

Deschutes jasper - maybe? I looked it up, and it's possible... I had no idea what I was getting when I bought these slabs at the rock show- I just grabbed a few that I liked and had to walk away before I didn't even have gas money! Thank you, sir.

What is the texture like? Is it coarse or fine grained? Could be deschutes, but could be some others which aren't as tightly grained.

Thanks. Just finished the first cab, into the tumbler it goes! Whatever it is I think it's going to take a great shine...

To me it looks like jaspelite but it is hard to tell if the color is red jasper and black hematite. Can you get the streak of the black part and let us know if it is red. If so then Hematite and jasper => jaspelite

Doesn't look like Deschutes to me, either.

It looks like Biggs to me. When I work with Biggs or Deschutes the water is only gray.
