Solid unit. No issues to speak of. The barrels go on with the two bottoms touching in the middle but there is not a rub issue. As an added bonus the Lortone 12 pound barrel can also run on that same machine in place of the two 6 pound barrels. The only wear item on Lortone barrels is the lid gasket and even that lasts a very long time.

What was said above, good unit. The wear on the lid gasket can be minimized by putting band aids over the head of the carriage bolt.

Cool so do you use a 3" X 2" band-aid on the steel lid then put the rubber boot back on ? and the band-aid cushion cushions the carriage bolts head where it contacts the rubber boot?

I've not used the band-aid, as I've been using good ole duct tape. And, yes, you have the right idea as to how it would be used.

Another vote for the QT66 In three years continuous tumbling, I have . . . - Rebuilt the entire tumbler - Replaced all three lid liners The belt has shed plenty of dark powder but never needed replacing.

I’ve only had mine for maybe a month or so now, but did a lot of research before purchasing it and am absolutely loving it. So glad I went with the QT-66 over the 33B and as stated above, the added bonus of being able to use the 12 pound barrel as well is a huge plus. Just make sure you put a drop or two of light machine oil on the 4 bearings every 30 days and you should be good for years. Best of luck and happy tumbling.
Oh wow, great idea with the bandaid or duct tape. The wear issue there never even crossed my mind. I’m gonna do that on mine on the next clean out. Thanks for those two tips.

+1, great unit. Mine has been running continuously for over 2 years.
Haven't had any issues with lid gasket wear at all. I heat loads by circulating hot tap water until the stones are hot to the touch, and use hottest water I can get from the tap before buttoning up. This helps prevent pressure buildup. Added benefit is that as everything cools it seems to suck some air in under the gasket, and there is always an air pocket between the gasket and lid. No rubbing on that bolt head.

I’ve had one since September. All good so far- being able to use the courser grit is defiantly helping.
One issue I have is the metal tops of both barrels seems to wearing down the rods

One issue I have is the metal tops of both barrels seems to wearing down the rods I’ve noticed that a little as well and have been wiping down the rods with a little soapy water on every clean out now. I wonder if some black electrical tape around the sides of the lids would help?

I have had my QT66 for a couple years now and it is awesome. I have never had them leak or walk. The barrels are still in great shape and I only use mine for course grinding. I haven't had to replace anything yet either but I did do the band-aid trick that was mentioned earlier.

My barrel Lid Liners probably developed holes faster than normal because I was tumbling a lot of freshly broken theatrical lenses (pyrex) in there.

I actually had to loosen the belt on mine when I got it. It was so tight that it torque-stalled the motor on startup without a load. That was it and it has been dead-nuts solid since.
