Looks like a pretty granite rather than agate. Nice piece It's really jasper-like but I hate to change the name of how it was sold to me.

At 1st I thought it was the same as the rosebud, but the cabs look very different.

accidentalrockhound rockjunquie The smaller slab on top is La Junta, the larger one with all the black I got as "mystery". I got the package today and I'm 99% sure this is La Junta Rose/Rosebud just with more black, and the seller put in a note saying it was called Flower Garden Jasper from CO. What do you two think? Pictured wet. There's only one small section that has the lightest coloring and I've put them side by side in the picture.

I think the bottom definitely has some agate features, so I wouldn't call it jasper. It could be La Junta Rose Agate- just looks a little different. More similar than different, to me anyway.

HankRocks @hankrocks the top slab in the picture above is known to be La Junta Rose (Rosebud) Agate, the seller said the larger/darker slab was called Flower Garden Jasper but like Tela says it definitely has agate features. What do you think is it the same as the Flower Garden Agate you referred to in Creating Cabochons? For now I'm going to continue to call it La Junta but it REALLY means a lot to me to be as accurate as possible with this stuff!
