To this day, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone bent over a chop saw cutting stone dry wearing so much as a dust mask.
Or ear plugs. : )

To this day, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone bent over a chop saw cutting stone dry wearing so much as a dust mask. Or ear plugs. : ) Was a cabinet and countertop maker for most of life. You’d be surprised at how many people are unaware of the dangers now known and you’d be lucky to have a lousy paper mask if anything at all. Actually surprised that I’m still alive with all the stone and wood dust that I inhaled over the years. Not to mention all the toxic fumes from paint, lacquer, varnishes, stain and many other toxic chemicals.

The local counter place by me is very health conscious. They use water cooled saws and employees wear respirators. Wearing protection over clothing is optional, but many do so.
