Someone on the RTH FB page is using crushed grinder wheels for stage 1 tumbling grit. The wheels were worn and no longer usable for intended purpose. It is working great. Has anyone here done that before? Any thoughts on doing this?

I'm pretty sure Jamesp uses broken up sic wheels as coarse stage grit. I'd tag him but not sure how.

Who would do such a thing ? They were bought yes used and cheap. New are costly. Great 60 grit time release coarse grind abrasive method. ****Use tough tumbler barrels. "If it wears barrels fast it will wear rocks fast" www.flickr.com/photos/67205364@N06/sets/72157649671884531chunks reduced in size on sorta soft Rhyolite after the first 2 weeks but some slurry was poured out and water added to thin over the 2 week run. Suggest HDPE barrel
