That's really interesting. Any ideas about where it was found? I can't ID it but would like to learn more about it.

The Nacimiento Mine in NM produced some green pet wood with copper inclusions.

I can't ID it either, but it's beautiful! Hope you find out what it is. I'm really curious.

The green is usually from inclusions of chromium in the petrified wood. There are a number of spots (some legal) to collect green(ish) petrified wood in Arizona. FYI - There is also an Arizona park where the petrified rocks removed from there carry a curse and people affected actually return them.

I don’t recall being in Arizona, but I’ll bet that’s what happened to my grandfather when he crashed in Roswell. To many rocks on board.

Very pretty slices! There is also some NM wood with silver and copper replacement. Have some small chunks around here somewhere (posted some bad pics here trying to highlight the silver). Conducts electricity very well. Also some silver-replacement wood in Utah and some copper replacement wood from old copper mine workings (though that usually has better grain visible). Possibility?

Your grandfather is telling you stories. But I honestly believe there were too many rocks on board, lol.

His grandfather probably resides in a large jar of alcohol or a freezer somewhere in a government lab with the rest of the alien visitors we've been able to catch so far.

Somewhere out there in New Mexico are a boat/UFO load of Arizona rocks, unless the government carted them off too.
