Yesterday confirmed what I thought. Am basically blind in right eye. Good news is that I have enough muscle control to close right eye.
Surgery estimate to possibly repair right eye vision was about $15,000.00, as my insurance would not cover it.
Hey, I can do most things with only one eye, so I am good. Have been adapting to limited vision for over a year.
Left eye vision is great if right eye is closed.
Not setback, but an opportunity for others who develop blindness in one eye. I can help those learn to cope and share what I have done to compensate.

Thanks. I was guessing I was almost blind in the one eye for several months. Feel fortunate that I can close that eye and have almost full vision in the other. That one has 20-200 vision without glasses. My glasses bring it up to 20-20. If I do not close the right eye, then cannot see, even with glasses. Customers at work often ask why I am closing one eye.

That's sad news! Have you ever thought about doing a GoFundMe campaign so you can get it fixed? Like on RTH there are a lot of people out there looking for ways to help others. Just a thought. I have no experience with such things but I have heard of people doing that for far lesser things.

I have a lot of issues with my eyes as well and know it’s no fun. I admire your positive attitude and wish you the best.

My brother got a hockey stick in the eye one evening. A few days later, a dark spot in his eye wouldn’t go away. Detached retina (partially). Had it laser stitched back in place, had strict lifting restrictions and laid on his back. A few weeks later he went on an airplane. No bueno b/c of the pressure changes. Tore it off again, worse. Has had several surgeries since and it still isn’t right. His ping-pong skills have suffered. Stinks.
Helmet has a face guard for a reason. Leave it in, hockey players.

Retinal detachment in my right eye when I was a kid. Buckle didn't do much to fix it. It basically works as poor peripheral vision, in that sometimes it picks up movement, otherwise no detail, color is crap. I've been forced to compensate, for a lack of better phrasing. Brain has decided that life passes through the left eye and I have to close the left eye to even see anything out the right one.
Being left eyed and right-handed/footed has been odd for anything sport related. I can throw and catch if I don't think about it (at all). Oddly enough the binocular triangulation doesn't seem to matter so much. There's like 6 or so ways we can tell depth and binocular vision is just one of them. I will say I prefer driving vehicles that are a little taller - seems to help with judging distance when I can see more of the pavement. No accidents the entire driving career, so there's that. When I'm tired, or it's bright out, or trying to focus on small text I tend to close the right eye or I get weird cross vision.
Not sure what it would be like to suddenly lose vision in an eye as an adult, being used to binocular vision for so long. Sorry for the bad news, best wishes.

Thanks for the well wishes. Will see if the new glasses help a little when they arrive.

Beth, I feel bad for you, but I have to ask- what the hell kind of insurance won't pay to fix your eyesight?
