This rock was already mounted in the vise of the saw I bought last week. I was able to cut 4 slabs off and now I have a nice size end cut to glue up. Seems pretty unstable to me. As the slabs finished cutting they broke into sections when they hit the saw and while trying to make my first cab the preform cracked in half at the trim saw where I had not seen any visible fracture. I like the color though. Guessing Chrysocolla but is it a specific location or name? AzRockGeek? Quick cab from a scrap just to see how it behaved Thanks Chuck

Its probably chrysocolla and things. You will have to check to see if those green spots are silicate or soft.

Thanks Peruano and AzRockGeek. I was hoping to get a specific name or location for listings but I guess that is difficult with materials like this. I guess maybe just call it chrysocolla/malachite for now. I'll try to make a couple cabs from a better section of a slab to see the potential. Any recommendations on final polish? Leather, canvas, diamond, A/O etc.... Chuck

vegasjames may be a good one to chime in as well. He (and Jax!) mine a lot of similar material.
