Please tell me you sported that look for at least a few days. I grew that for one of my tumbling video and shaved it off in stages for the video. So that only lasted a few minutes. However, a few years before that, I grew a shorter beard and shaved it off in stages one day at a time, going to school with the various beards and mustaches. I do go to school looking like that for a day.

I keep "threatening" my wife I'm going to cut it off leaving '70s mutton chop sideburns...she doesn't seem to be amused by it though! LOL

Awesome video as usual Jugglerguy. I like the “Ohio Rocks” teaser at the beginning… holajonathan, you selling off any of those gorgeous cabs?

Great video, you two! Everytime I see this thread "Rob and Jonathan's Excellent Adventure" pops into my head.

stuckinohioNah, I haven't sold any yet and don't really plan to, although someday I'm going to have to do something with the collection of cabs that now fill up several plastic carry out containers.

So is it worth a trip there to collect if you only had a 'few' tools? Sounds like the best stuff came from the jackhammer's cast offs. I fly back to the general area occasionally to see family, but it's not like I'd bring a bunch of tools with. Just wondering what's the honest opinion of whether it's worth going by and essentially surface collecting from either of you Jugglerguy holajonathan or anyone else that's been there in person...

Yes, still worth it if the drive is not more than a couple of hours. Unless you've got a jack hammer, I would take nothing but a small rock hammer and a bucket and just search through the rocks that are strewn everywhere. Many of the flint knapper rejects are nice lapidary rocks. The flint is so brittle I was able to window most pieces with a tiny upholstery hammer (basically a tack hammer). It was fun walking around with an 8 ounce hammer and pinging chips off of rocks to see the inside.

If you crack yourself up, that's what really matters. My wife's eye rolls don't even phase me anymore.

Ohio flint, that material is so awesome to cut and cab with..... Great collection you have - HOLY MOLY! I had a seller from Ohio that I use to buy from "Chad Hoffman", did a few deals with him, than the big one came about, $600 worth and I got burned by him! Never heard from him again! I finally just had to let it go and call it a lesson learned, but it sure knocked the trust level down a bit..
Hahaha, As for beards and etc, I only cut my hair and shave once a year, the Army turned me off on the hair thing... Get pretty shaggy once in awhile LOL.
Great video and thanks for sharing..

Really enjoyed the video. I don't know how but I was completely unaware of flint being used in the lapidary world. Beautiful material!

Yes, i'm just as mean and grumpy as I look. Well that's disappointing. I was hoping that you looked a little more like the 70s sweater-wearing Yoda in your profile photo.
