I sure wish those prices were still the same. A person could buy one of each part and build it for cheap.............MrP

That looks like it could work. You just have to make sure it is held solid. I had the nuts holding the tub on work loose and break a hold down bolt. The base bolts have to be grade 8 and very tight. I should say they didn't come loose until I went to the bigger tub. Only happened once but that was enough too make sure it is tight every time now. I ended up using new lock washer more often and a longer wrench just to make sure the tub is on tight. There is a lot of force involved in shaking that much weight in that manner.
When I bought mine it had four 6 lb tubs with 2 of them having a hold down ear broken off. I couldn't figure out why that was until my big tub came loose.
As a side note; I am sure you know that in a lot of applications a lock washer is a one time use item. Once you compress it and release it they say it is never the same. Bolts also in some cases, because of the stretch. I always thought it was to sell more.
Snowdog you ever have one come loose on you?.................MrP

MrP...great job on this barrel you have made for the Viking from the propane tanks, very inspiring. I also makes a larger barrel size than I was aiming to make....me thinks I will have to follow your lead on this. Do you find much problem with slab breakage? Do you find cushioning material necessary? Slab breakage is not a real problem. I use this one for large slabs so they are generally thicker anyway. I have a lot of cushioning material because of all the tumbled pendants I make. I just take all my saw scrap and keep tumbling them...........................MrP

You will not regret stealing getting that unit. Can't wait to see what tubs you will build for it. I have tumbled very large slabs in mine. That is why I made the larger tubs. I have one I made from a 20 lb tank also. That one I cut a center piece out, from the long direction, to bring the sides in so it could be reshaped.
I know that Snowdog has the large tub and does large slabs also. One thing I will tell you is if the belts break get the right ones for the unit. Being just a bit cheap I thought I could save a buck by just using good O-Rings. Just get the right ones they seem to last a long time.................MrP

You can make whatever size tub you want for that unit. I bought mine with two 6 lb tubs. I made one out of the smaller LP tank, 10lb, I think. The first one I made I spent a bunch of time and money lining it with a liquid rubber. The next one I just left as is and it works fine..............MrP

If this is only half as good as my box is, it will be fantastic. I do want more but will let others have a shot at getting some fine material............MrP

Maybe I need to know more about the issue. always willing to learn. IMO, if any corporation or developer is set up to profit here, than crucify them. but if it is rocks on the one hand or planet-saving renewables on the other hand, I go with the planet every time.
planet-saving renewables
It is very obvious you have no clue how much energy is used to create solar cells and the amount of pollution involved in the process. If it wasn't for government rebates and support, in other words the peoples money, they would not be building all the solar and wind farms because they can't support themselves on just there energy production.
The 650kW wind generator on our utility system has produced 17% of capacity in the 12 years it has been installed.
The 5.2kW solar system that a home owner installed has been less then 20% of capacity in the 4 years it has been in use. System cost home owner $32,000 with an $8,000 rebate. He makes between $500 - $600 a year on this system. Now to do it justice it is in Minnesota and has some tree shading but if I am doing my math right there is no payback on the system. The home owner knew this going in but is proud he is 'Doing The Right Thing'. He and his wife spend about 4 months a year traveling the world, but they do the 'Right Thing' at home.
Building those sites has nothing to do with saving the planet. It has everything to do with making money and taking our rights away.................MrP

James From what I know I am not sure. Was curious so I put the name into a name nationality lookup and it says it is Welsh. I do know I am German. My understanding is that when my Great Great Great Grandfather came to this country he changed his last name to Price. Not sure why and do not know what his name was before he changed it............MrP
