Those are all great wraps. I'm sure they will all be glad to get those beauties.

I did not find a fish. Yes, it was me who found that piece of gem silica in Brenda Area (although Jim claimed it was his because I found it in the road when I was getting ready to take a picture for Jim of him sitting at the base of a cactus). Mine was pretty but not that big or clear. I don't really remember seeing a thousand dollar chunk of gem silica anywhere. Diane, I was just ribbing you about who found the GS, lol. I know it was you who found it. As for the $1000 piece of GS, I think that is a totally unrelated thing Mark K spoke of, not a value of the rock you found. As one gets older, stories tend to get jumbled, and we misremember things. I know you were just ribbing me. It's to be expected...lol. I agree, as one gets older stories tend to get jumbled and sometimes we just plum forget what happened.

Remember when we went to that one spot and I blew the rock apart? One of the chunks has a seam that goes through and is 1/2 inch thick and about 8 inches in any direction wide. Someone totally mined that spot out by the way. Chunks of stone the size of cars gone and I can't find any evidence of how they did it. It is just gone. Actually I don't remember you blowing a rock apart. Guess my memory ain't what it used to be.

No one is going to beat Diane though. Her fish is once in a lifetime. I found what may be a thousand dollar chunk of gem silica. Diane was with. I also found a blue MT agate and 2 fairburnes in the general area of Glendive. Mark, did Diane find a fish, too? I think you may be thinking of the one I found at Brenda. Diane drocknut (or was it Jim Wampidy? Lol) found a nice piece of that pretty blue gem silica stuff, also at Brenda. Was going to post some pics of the fossil fish, will try to get it tomorrow. Was trying to think of anything else that fits the bill! I did not find a fish. Yes, it was me who found that piece of gem silica in Brenda Area (although Jim claimed it was his because I found it in the road when I was getting ready to take a picture for Jim of him sitting at the base of a cactus). Great trip pics Brian. I agree, Brenda area has a lot of variety. Looks like you found a lot of keepers. As usual your rock vision did not disappoint. My piece of gem silica isn't that big but maybe it looks bigger when other people want it...LOL.

That's amazing. I've never seen a Montana Agate with purple in it but I suppose anything is possible. Very cool.

Those are all beautiful. What you are calling Montana Moss I would consider a Prairie Agate but names are always subject to interpretation I believe. I prefer the simple wraps like on the first and last ones but all are nice.

Hello and welcome to the forum from south central Arizona. I don't know about Lake Superior geology but you might find the book, "Agates Inside Out" interesting.
