Hi all! Looks like I'll be in the area from Washington state to attend the show Friday and Saturday. Planning a bit of hounding out in the Cady's sunday or Monday. I'll have a bit of my Olympic Poppy Jasper with me too. Stop by and say HI!

Tons of amazing rockhounding in the area. Beaches always produce nice stuff, and you have both the Cascade mountains as well as the Olympic Range nearby. I've been collecting this area for 15 years, and haven't even scratched the surface.

Thanks! That is exactly what I was looking for. Now to clean and begin re-assembly! I have to order a bunch of parts too, so it's going to take a while whilst I raise the dosh.
Cheers! Joshua

That looks like my setup! A close shot of the split nut setup would help me immensely! Thanks!

I'm in the process of restoring a basket case of a 1960s HP 18" saw. Looking at the parts listing on the HP website, I'm seeing a slightly different split nut arrangement than what was present when I tore the carriage apart on mine. Does anyone have photos of the split nut assemble on an older HP saw? Mine has threads built into the two arms, not a separate nut like listed on the website.
Thanks! Joshua

#3 could be mariposite or listwanite. Mariposite if it's soft around a 5.

Cross the creek and hike up the hill to the left of camp, there are small thundereggs right there that can be nice.

It's amazing. 4wd can be required for some areas. Source a map if you can, it's a big area!

I don't post photos of the diggings, because I have an agreement with the landowner that only allows me access. If he had to deal with rockhounds showing up on his land, everyone would lose. It is a sad part of this hobby that once word gets out about a "good" spot, it gets very quickly destroyed, The odd club outing aside, where every one is respectful and picks up after themselves. I personally saw two different spots here in Washington State get published on facebook this year only to have them close less than a month later after going viral. I will start a thread about what I do, and how I do it, as well I'll post photos of some of the results. Didn't mean to slip into a rant there.

I have enough collected for the initial round of sales here on the forum. I'll be digging all winter and I'll start listing on Ebay next month. I usually dig through April, but this year is going to be up in the air, since we are moving in June and in order to move, I have to (finally) finish building my house. Busy busy!
All Pm's replied to. Thanks all, and keep em coming!

The knowledge I have about ID'ing jades is virtually nil, But my friend LithicBeads knows darn near everything about this stone. Be happy to refer him for an ID.

Hello Everyone! Mining season is upon me again, and I need reasons to dig. This will be the last year that I am going to dig Olympic Poppy, so this is the last chance to get some while the getting is good. As always special pricing for forum members. I don't publish prices because of search engines, but members here always get my best material for the best price. This has been my lapidary home for years, and I've learned so much from ya'll that I like to give back. If you are interested in a box, please shoot me a PM. Thanks!
