Bumping this one up for inclusion on the DIY page. I hate to think how many good builds like this I miss when I'm not paying attention

Very nice flat lap build jamesp! I'm sorry that I missed it the first time through. I was poking back in time looking for build threads that I missed for the DIY equipment page and there it was.

All,
The root of the issue is the video is file type MOV and not mp4. MOV files are an Apple-based codec and Windows cannot open a MOV file on its own so it defaults to downloading the file (a user on a Mac with Safari will not have this issue most likely).
If it becomes an issue again I have a way to block MOV from being posted on the board using a bad-word censor so if it comes to that I will employ it.

TommyThat’s weird! I took a quick video and uploaded it through the cloudinary button. Should I delete it? Ashley, just for clarification did you upload the video directly from an Iphone in 'desktop' view? Were just trying to recreate the process.

So a coder from Proboards looked at it and determined that it was a hidden object in ashley's post that was causing issues. Ashley, this code made it into your post - obviously nothing malicious on your part but the curiosity is in what steps did you take that ended up landing this bit of code in your post? It appears that you might have taken a screen capture video or something like that and uploaded it to Cloudinary? <object classid="clsid:02BF25D5-8C17-4B23-BC80-D3488ABDDC6B" width="480" height="286" codebase="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab" scale="aspect"><param name="src" value="https://res.cloudinary.com/ash------d/video/upload/v1660767830/i0wrdqvhf8q6cpzbvcq2{auto-correct: MOV files not allowed}"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"><param name="qtsrc" value="https://res.cloudinary.com/ash------d/video/upload/v1660767830/i0wrdqvhf8q6cpzbvcq2{auto-correct: MOV files not allowed}"><param name="autoplay" value="false"><param name="loop" value="false"><param name="controller" value="true"><embed src="https://res.cloudinary.com/ash------d/video/upload/v1660767830/i0wrdqvhf8q6cpzbvcq2{auto-correct: MOV files not allowed}" qtsrc="https://res.cloudinary.com/ash------d/video/upload/v1660767830/i0wrdqvhf8q6cpzbvcq2{auto-correct: MOV files not allowed}" width="480" height="286" autoplay="false" loop="false" controller="true" pluginspage="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/"></object>

Perhaps it's a setting in the browser where you can tell it how to handle certain types of files. In my Waterfox browser, the options are: Always ask, Save file, or open file with another program. Depending on the browser you're using, those settings would be listed under Applications. That's a great suggestion - I'll see if I can find anything. I was beginning to think maybe it's because I use an OEM version of Windows 7 that has never been updated one single time haha. It works great but certain things just don't get handled right

Yeah it happens to me too and I haven't been able to figure out why. As Robin said it happens when someone uploads a video on Cloudinary - when only some of us arrive open the thread Cloudinary wants to deliver the video as a file instead of displaying it properly while also being able to see it like normal in the post. The reason the portal was doing it was the post with the video was currently residing in the "most recent post" block but it has moved on now. Edit: Sorry, I'm still half asleep - ^^ yes what hypodactylus said. I will try to dig into it farther and see if I can figure out why it happens for some of us while others have no issues.

I had a different neighbor come over and show me a few agates she had found in her landscaping rock. Several were chert...; But then there was this! Anyway what could I do. I sliced it up and made a nice little cab out of it. You truly are the agate whisperer... That is a really beautiful stone, she is going to flip out.

Hey everyone First and foremost my name is Jay and I'm from the lower mainland of BC Canada. I've been interested in rock collection or cutting them up since I was a little kid. I'm concrete finisher by trade and an artist second. Well I'd hope that be the other way around but it happens. Anyway Git into a car accident and decided that life is short so I'm going to get back into all the stuff I was interested in when I was a kid. Unfortunately they all take time. I already own a few tools because of my trade and have a lot of experience working with rocks already. I just stumbled upon this site while looking for some polishing compounds. I do resin art as well as a few others when I have time. Anyway I look forward to learning more about this rock craze and where to find them. Unfortunately the area I live in, there isn't much. I could go further up north and find some jade but that gets boring unless I want to carve it into a dragon or something. Kind regards Jay Welcome Jay!

I have traveled to Wildhorse lake in the Steens Mountains twice over the past couple years- it is truly wonderful. A brutal hike for someone who lives at sea level... The cliffs on the right edge of the lake are made of this kind of rock. The crystals are fascinating. This shows the crystals on edge... This shows a couple of them on their lateral face. The embedded crystals are about the size of a half-dollar or a little bigger. I wonder if this is enough definition to have you folks help me figure out what kind of rock this is. I lugged a couple softball-sized chunks out to put in the garden, and a few smaller ones that I might put in the tumbler. It might be kinda soft. It is a beautiful hike, but very strenuous and at altitude. Any thoughts on what the rocks are and how they might have formed? Volcanic, for sure... I think. I'm glad I was tagged into this thread because until this morning I had never heard of this place and now I want to add it to my very long list of places I'd like to visit. I'm sure you took a lot more pictures of the scenery on your hike so please feel free to post more so we can at least drool over them. Regarding picking up a pretty rock while hiking in a protected area, obviously the forum does not "PROMOTE" said activities (support or actively encourage, assist) so we'll call it lessons learned. Hopefully every time you look at it in your garden you'll remember that hike and start planning your next one.

Congratulations agatewhisperer on a stunning earring pair creation in a crowded field of beautiful stones for such a specialized theme. Your eye-popping shapes and colors led the way from the beginning of the vote to the end with a landslide victory. Please remember to show us the finished creation

I am not photogenic at all and this picture proves that without a doubt. Are any of us really? I can totally relate though and you will have noticed by now that I'm not rushing to do a "Faces of the Forum" calendar... Poor Eva has a dozen backside photos for every successful face she gets away with Now that I think about it, maybe we SHOULD do an RTH members calendar but with all of us with our backs to the camera haha Awesome show set up you guys! I miss the days when I could hit a different show somewhere in n.CA almost every weekend from March thru June. Now I just work. I'm feeling particularly sad about it because my favorite show in Roseville just went by this last weekend and I couldn't go.
