The Hubbard basin slab looks beautiful! Never thought of gluing to another rock. Are you gluing both surfaces to the carboard? If so are you using carpentry glue? I'm surprised there's not more oil on that cardboard. First I clean the piece in the saw with acetone then using CA I glue the cardboard to the rock in the saw. Then I glued the wood to the cardboard. I spray the rock in the vixe with excelerator, glue on cardboard, then smear it around a bit and then hold for a few seconds for the ca to go off. repeat with wood to the cardboard.. cardboard does get oil in it but no problem with that. I helped a friend do this to some real heavy pieces. Took both of us to lift the wood and hold while glue seets up.

Real nice Piece of Hubbard Basin i got in the mail today! Bob, I've found that most of my Hubbard Basin wood fluoresces with a great variety of colors under the UV light. I will have to find my lights and get it out! Interesting.

woodman and realrockhound I know a guy in my area who might be interested if you want to sell your Richardson sander. Send me a message if you want to unload it. Thanks for the offer but I do use it from time to time!

I have one of those Richardsons high speed sanders. Not a fan. Also dangerous as all hell. Definitely use thick gloves when using and eye protection. I wouldn’t be surprised if people have severely hurt themselves on those things. The high speed sanders from Richardson's are great on eggs, and small stuff. larger pieces NO. I got one but rarely use it!

You got a real good deal on the bullwheel, you will like it! I use 100, 220 and 400 belts and then the polisher. thanks for the update on the lap! I'm loving it for the Oregon thundereggs big time. One thing I need to do now is find a large enough saw here in WA or in OR to cut my big logs and moss agates. Need a 36in saw for them and I only have a 24. Just send me the logs and I will take good care of them! There was drag saw for sale in Astoria./Tillamook a while back.
