I started tumbling in earnest in March of this year with a 1970s Skilcraft 1.5 lb tumbler. (Lortone barrel) ..Arriving in a few days is a Lortone 33b and a QT 12. I wish I had a picture of my wifes look at me. I think I might need help LOL

Show her how pretty the polished rocks are, AND THE PENDANTS and refrigerator magnets you can make.

My wife and I have been rock picker uppers our whole time together, almost 40 years. It's just that this tumbling bug hit me hard for some reason this year (cough cough grandchildren interest). Weve picked up rocks from all over the place including England. They're pretty. Lol. But I just spent quite a bit of money all at once. Yes, I think I've lost my mind. Lol

Since you're not buying rocks to tumble, I think your extra equipment purchase makes it a wash. (Yes, I'm an enabler.)

dirtsifter Its a very wholesome hobby! We would all love to see your collection of rocks! I'm away from home working right now...so just mobile devices. Discovered one needs an actual computer to do that cloudinary thingy. Developing the patience of a rock tumbler . It's not hard to figure out why vibratory tumblers are so popular!

I only use my iphone and set up cloudinary on it. Just request a desktop view of the site if you need to. (We want to see your pictures!)

Once you have your Cloudinary account set up, you can post photos from there with your phone. I do it all the time! Welcome to the forum from Southern California.

I post everything with my phone...but I use Tapatalk rather than Cloudinary. I think the Tapatalk app is a really easy way to use forums...and post pictures.

An update. The Lortone QT12 arrived and is happily tumbling locally collected beach stones from eastern shore of Lake Ontario. The Lortone 33b I was waiting for arrived but it was a scam (FB marketplace, it was a Harbor Freight tumbler, ok but not what I ordered-fraud reported) The same day, got a notice from Kingsley North that 33b was back in stock-ordered and received. Now tumbling lace agate and "fancy" jasper 1 lb each in one tumbler and rocks collected by one of my sons in the Adirondack mountains. True, ya'll are a bunch of enablers and I have lost my mind

I still only have one small 3lbs rotary tumbler, and a hundred pounds rocks from purchase, and another hundred pounds on their way, which doesn't help...

You're never going to find people to discourage you here, sorry. That's the one fault of the forums.
And everyone knows you can't have just one tumbler. Leave them alone in the garage unsupervised, and wait....they tend to reproduce like rabbits!

The problem grows! New additions a lot o tumbler, a Convoy C8 UV flashlight, and a Hi-Tech 8 in flat lap have worked their way into my house! I've had the Lot o for half it's warranty life still in the box but because of work and family time haven't got it set up yet. But there's hope! I obtained a fresh concrete block and was able to fill the holes with concrete last week. Due to being homebound with COVID this week, I mustered up the strength to get a coat of paint on it. Hopefully tomorrow the 2nd coat. Being home with my sweetheart is wonderful but if I don't work, I don't get paid. The life of a Traveler RN.. Yes, I have lost my mind. I did learn not to go through the house with a 365nm uv light. It ain't pretty what one finds.....

I just ordered a Mini Sonic MT4 to add to the collection. Once you get past a certain point the CFO doesn't notice the addition (until the CC bill comes in lol)
