Well I guess my desk was calling to me then... That looks like a lot of fun. You definitely found some good stuff. Are you going to tumble, cut+cab, or keep as is?

I told jasoninsd where to go. Just ask him, I was telling him all about where you won’t find fairburns 😂 looks like my work here is done.

Very nice, Jason! That last one is definitely my favorite, great lines. Is that one of the better ones that you've found so far? Thanks for sharing...even though I'm now starting to get a little jealous... 🙃

I can see what you mean about hard to find. That last one is a beauty, but likely wouldn't have picked it up, if it wasn't facing up on it's good side. Thanks for showing that.
Looks like you had a good day - thanks for sharing it.

Wow... I would only be able to see such agate beds in my dream... Thanks PS! All you gotta do is plan a trip to South Dakota! Well I guess my desk was calling to me then... That looks like a lot of fun. You definitely found some good stuff. Are you going to tumble, cut+cab, or keep as is? Thanks Perk! I can tell you my bed was calling me last night! LOL I think I MAY cut the big one...I'm on the fence about it. The rest I'm going to leave as specimens. I told jasoninsd where to go. Just ask him, I was telling him all about where you won’t find fairburns 😂 looks like my work here is done. Yeah...everyone knows west-coasters know ALL the good South Dakota hounding spots! LOL Very nice, Jason! That last one is definitely my favorite, great lines. Is that one of the better ones that you've found so far? Thanks for sharing...even though I'm now starting to get a little jealous... 🙃 Thank you my friend! Yeah...that last one is definitely one of the better examples (okay best probably LOL) of the fortification possibilities in a Fairburn in the ones I've found. (Excluding the best one I found in the landscape rock! LOL) I can see what you mean about hard to find. That last one is a beauty, but likely wouldn't have picked it up, if it wasn't facing up on it's good side. Thanks for showing that. Looks like you had a good day - thanks for sharing it. Patty Thanks Patty! The other thing that KILLS me when out hounding for Fairburns...unless the rock has been broken or weathered down (that last one has been both) then you may never know if there's a fortification inside the rock. I've probably looked at thousands of Fairburn Agates...but since the rocks were whole, I never knew! (Those are the thoughts that keep me up at night! LOL)

jasoninsd Awesome finds Jason! There are some cool looking quartz pieces there too! Thanks Ashley! I think this area could be deemed a quartz lovers DREAM! There is quarts everywhere out there! The "experts" say if you find an area out there that's heavy in quartz (and there's a LOT of them), start looking hard as Fairburn Agates like quartz areas. (Which makes sense...since Fairburns are basically quartz based.)

Last time I was in South Dakota it was only a few days and I went to Wall Drug Store and had Mickey Pancakes and a cup of coffee. I didn't have time to go do much rockhounding but did go to Railroad Buttes for about 2 hours with no luck finding anything except prairie agates and not many of them. I did get to see the Petrified Wood Park and drove through Deadwood and Rapid City. It was a quick trip for sure.
