Does anyone have a good source for rutilated quartz for cabbing? I saw some cabs at the last rock swap that I went to and I'd really like to try some. Thanks!

Clean cabbing material with a good show of rutile is increasingly rare and expensive. When I first started cabbing it was abundant and cheap and I should have stocked up but it's a rough go with no dough. It became enormously popular with artisan jewelers in the late 90s and early 2000's and prices skyrocketed while supplies shrank. Top material (when you can find it) sells for a big premium now.

I completely agree, most of the slabs I see online are definitely expensive!

Funny you made this thread. I was just thinking about cabbing some myself.

[br Honestly, it's not that rare; it's just expensive. You can browse IG all day and find sellers, it's just not cheap.
