I helped set up a trunk and treat at the rural fire station after some shop time. Like the reformation day idea, maybe I'll make a kielbasa meal of some type a day late tomorrow, got one I gotta do something with. Sourkraut gots me thinking I need to start up a batch of kimchi soon.

Good story Gary!
I worked today, unloaded two trailers full of rock, then went and sighted in my new rifle that my daughter got for me. Opening day for deer here tomorrow, going with my daughter to see if we can bag a couple.
I got home late so Im not sure how many trick or treaters we got.

Last year was the first year I did not buy, or give out, candy to trick or treaters. I liked it so much, that I ignored that tradition this year as well!
We've lived in this neighborhood for thirty years, and have seen the number of Trick or Treaters vary from next to nothing, to over 100. It's been a pretty quiet evening outside, although I currently hear some rather loud voiced ruffians outside.
Nine pm, time for them to go home and eat themselves sick, lol.

Got up early today and went to an appointment before work. Went to work after, and then met a buddy and ate some chocolate. My idea of a good time. Happy Halloween guys!

Our neighborhood used to get a lot of kids. Then they all grew up and moved away. I handed out candy when they came around. When they stopped, I stopped.
Now, we have a new wave of kids. And I do mean WAVE or maybe tsunami. I don't know what nationality they are, but they are Hispanic. The parents don't speak English, but the kids do. Yards sport signs from the school declaring their academic prowess.
The kids by and large are all well behaved and well watched. I love hearing kids play again.
Alas, they seem to go somewhere else for trick or treating. Maybe a church or "rich" peoples' neighborhoods. So, sadly, I did not hand out candy last night. I had a few beers with my daughter and called it a night. I would rather have handed out candy to the little monsters. It was actually a little depressing.

I am so rural, no trick or treaters. I worked a full shift, alone, last night. It was very busy. We could have used 2 bar tenders.
One regular customer and his wife came in. He put some plastic, false teeth in his mouth and said "Trick or Treat". I just laughed and said we were not giving out treats. He jokingly said I could give him something for all the effort he had on his costume. Other customers put a lot more effort into their costumes. It was a fun night.
At one time I lived in a mid 1800's house. It sat on top of a large hill, up from the street. There was a front deck with a small roof by the door. We decorated to the hilt. Even the car port in front of the large garage was decorated.
I will always remember how the place looked one year. Motion activated ghosts hung in the magnolia tree between sidewalk and deck. My daughter and I painted a 10' by 5' spooky forest scene on cardboard and mounted it to wood. We used some fluorescent paint and had a black light by it. The underside of roof by door was filled with motion sensor bats and spiders. Another black light there with fluorescent eyes on ghosts, owls and trees we painted on cardboard. The walkway to house was lined with jack o lanterns. Some had motion sensor spooky sounds. Lots of lights hung from the car port. I usually dressed up to hand out candy.
There were always lots of trick or treaters. I miss those days.

Next year hand out the beer to the parents.

No trick or traders for decades. This year it was plumbers; me, my checkbook and them.
