The motor that the was rebuilt(new bearings) for me by a friend has given it up. I bought it from Thumlers(over $100) and as with most new small motors these days, quality has dropped substantially. It was 3000 rpm, I found a couple of decently priced motors, however the rpm is 1650. Just wondering how much the lower rpm with reduce the effectiveness of the UV-18? The machine is only used for Polish. Hate to pay another $100 plus for a new motor that is only going to last 6 to 8 months due to the poor design(counter-weight on shaft).
Thanks Henry

I just bought a replacement (with Thumler specs) at Zoro for 63.00.
To your specific question: not sure how the lower rpm would affect it.
Good luck!!

Thanks Henry Do you have a part# for the original motor? A while back I purchased a box full of small 3000 rpm motors at a large rock estate, the guys plans were to build vib tumblers and flat laps. Who knows, might be a match.

It's the 2nd replacement motor I have put on it. Will see if I can get a picture of the current motor and post it. The current motor is 1/20 hp with 4 mounting studs at each end. Will send some more details later in the morning. Thanks Henry

I don't know if this is any help. Here's a pic of an original UV-18 motor that I purchased about 25 years ago.

I did not try and cross reference, different brand. These are 4" in diameter and 5" tall with a 5/16 shaft. Tim
