Well, just for fun I dropped what I considered a lowball offer and it was accepted. I figured if my entire cost including fuel and food was their asking price it is probably worth it, assuming the saw is fairly close to fully functional. Looks like a road trip to LA is coming soon. Too bad it isn't Texas or some place I haven't already been to 500 times.

Cool!!! When you start playing with it, maybe you can detail all the hydraulic lines on it, mine is not setup that way. It appear to me that the oil recirculating pump was setup to supply the hydraulic dampener (feed rate control).
If you want, I can post some pic's of how the oil reservoir (tank) is setup on mine.

I would definitely like to see that, thank you. I think the lines that run to the outside are just for the pump, which appears to be what is mounted by the damper cylinder, but it's hard to say since I also don't see the power to the pump. I am thinking about whether it makes sense to set it up for water and/or oil so I can use it for chrysocolla, variscite and the like without using oil. At any rate I see another cart in my future, this one with wheels that will roll on gravel. I'll call the seller shortly, looks like the road trip will be next week.

AzRockGeek I may take you up on that. The auction description mentions a tub, but no photos and descriptions say it "may leak", which I take to say it does leak. I bought it thinking that it would be nice to have a saw I can use with a water based coolant, we'll see how that works out.

Also, he also has this. Cab King 8" looks like almost new. Price is high but I offered about 60% for the saw and he took it, so maybe offer $1K and see what happens? I don't need it or I would. If anyone in my vicinity decides to get it before next Monday I can even offer to bring it closer to you. www.ebay.com/itm/285021819956?hash=item425c9fd434:g:QOgAAOSwG69jG~3~

Would you like to post this in the Marketplace? More opportunity for someone to snag the cabber.

Went to Chatsworth CA Monday and picked it up, a mere 800 miles +/- in a day. Left the house 415AM Last less expensive gas heading west and the sun about to rise, any guesses the station? Stoney point park in Chatsworth, should have stopped again for pics on the way to the hwy but I was hungry, and dinner in Indio was a long ways ahead. Near where I got the saw, pretty upscale. mohs slept here Palm springs/Palm Desert was getting close to El Campanario Restaurant (highly recommended and on the southern CA to Quartzsite route) Slept a couple hours in a rest area and drove the rest of the way. No more travel pics. Now the saw. Still in the car. Moved to the trailer for a workbench and to transfer to the storage box.

mohs yep, both ways through Wickenburg and the rest on US60, too much work on the 10 west of 303 to go that way. Stopped in Q both ways for fuel, haven't totalled the reciepts yet. Don't know if it's an acronym, but I can always make one up in a month or so when I see how it cuts.

When it hits the top of the que I will take pics and video for sure on this one, I think folks will like the direction I'm taking and the larger project it could lead to.

Wish I would have caught this thread earlier, as it would have been nice to say hello to you.
