I didn’t expect to catch up w/ the tortoise today
Really a slomo after a hazy night
Butte catch up I did and couldn’t resist
An Aldabra on the move!
Now this shot came after what my real hunt will be
While viewing the gazelle exhibit the sign said:
There is a Sulcata tortoise in that pen
Now I don’t now my tortoises from turtles
I just know about Herkumer…m
Butte I really going to be on treasure hunt to find the elusive Sulcata
that pen is close to acre lot and I may have to bring binohs
so stay tuned…mohs

I have to love mohs
for coming through with the Aldabra, and a fine looking specimen he is (The tortoise, that is) YEAH !
It looks like he's headed somewhere with a purpose, maybe feeding time ?
I don't think I'd want to get in his way
The sulcata will be smaller, but look somewhat similar.
From what I know, an Aldabra might be 500 lbs, and a sulcata might be 200.
Still impressive, and too big to pick up.
Both the sulcata & the gazelle's are African, so it makes sense to keep them together, like in the wild.
I've never seen an Aldabra in person - maybe some day.......
THANK YOU mohs - made my dreary rainy, full of annoying work day.
