I am looking for a Classifer pan for sifting rocks from dirt, but I want the mesh in the bottom to be 1 inch squares to let any rock smaller than 1 inch fall through but for the life of me I can not find one, Anyone have any Sources for classifer sifting pans with larger mesh? I would even consider a 2 inch mesh, I am looking for something to sift on the fly when im out rockhounding so i dont have to pull out a ruler and measure each stone 1 by 1 lol. But I dont really want anything smaller than 1 inch for tumbling( I have plenty of smalls, like 40lbs of smalls). So far the biggest I can find is 7/8. I really dont want to go less than 1 inch.

But I am considering doing an all wood box with a 1in hole drill bit and some sheets of plywood I have. But I would much rather buy it premade if I can.

LOL I think you'll have a difficult time trying to find one that's premade with holes that big. If you make it out of all wood, the weight is going to be pretty hefty...

Its fairly thin plywood, maybe an inch thick and I dont plan on making it very big, small enough to fit in a backpack/ruck sack. I am getting a 100L rucksack/Backpack, so I may make it 12x8x4 inchs total. Might add 3 or 4lbs to my sack, which, will still be lighter fully loaded than what I humped around in the army lol.

Seems to me, if wet, the drilled wood would swell.

Seems to me, if wet, the drilled wood would swell. It likely would yes. I do however plan to waterseal and varnish the wood, if I decide to build one to prevent this issue.

Try collapsible plastic containers and size the bottom holes to 1".

What I have used for years is a 4 gal milk Carton that has 1" square holes in the bottom. Many do not have 1" holes but I had a couple and that worked. I wrapped the sides in duct tape to keep the side holes from leaking.

Just so happens there are a ton of old milk carton carriers at my house and wouldnt you know it, the bottom squares are just under 1 1/2 inch, Thank you again man I got my sifter free just need to cut it off so that it will fit in the ruck sack!
