Okay! Here's the plan. I quickly realized that individually bubble-wrapping each cab could take me into the next century, (to say nothing of contributing to my mental demise) so I've shoved Agatewhisperer's into a bubble package as tightly as possible, then into another bubble package, then into a bubble envelope. I'm going to mail Monday and wait until he tells me whether this works with minimal to no chipping. If not, I'll suck it up and do it slower, if yes, I'll get the rest out within a week. And Agatewhisperer, if my experiment has destroyed your winnings, I'll make good! Pebblesky, do you need your tumble mix broken up into tumble-sized pieces or are you able to do that? If you need me to break it up, what sizes should I shoot for? How do you feel about saw scraps? Hi Susan, didn't mean to give you more work to do. What you have available as-is would be great! Saw scraps work for me.

susand24224 ok, so Iβm super late to the party. Havenβt been around much recently. Just moved and been focused on other thing. If I read things correctly, I won 15 of the preform?

You read correctly, and Tommy sent me your address. I'm going to wait until I see how the ones I am sending out to Agatewhisperer Monday fare without be individually bubble wrapped. If they make it okay, I'll get the rest out pronto. If there are problems, I probably will individually bubble wrap which will take awhile (sigh). Moving does tend to eat one's life--I'm still trying to organize the rocks five years after the move--

Moving does tend to eat one's life--I'm still trying to organize the rocks five years after the move-- Susan, I have had a lot of luck taping stacks of preforms together. The trick is to keep them from banging together. So, I stack several together, tape them and wrap many stacks together tightly in bubble wrap. If sending in a bag, you can back them with cardboard to keep the stacks from bending.
Rockoonz , did you have many casualties when I sent all those preforms you bought from me?

Thanks, Tela, that's a good idea. I didn't do the tape thing with the batch I have packed, but I put tightly in a bubble wrap baggie, then into another bubble wrap baggie, then into a padded envelope. I like your idea better though.

susand24224 , I was thinking today that it's wonderful you're trying to clear stuff out & more wonderful that you're chosen a fun way to do it- BUT, I'm thinking at the same time it can quickly become a financial burden to ship it all, to so many different people.
SO, I'd like to pay the shipping for mine.
Can you PM me a paypal or zelle account for that ?
And tell me how much.
I'd feel better.
Thank you,
Patty

Thanks susand24224 - heck & it's my Birthday & I won something I'm game for what ever size you send.
Look forward to the surprise.
Thanks for doing this - it's fun. But I do think jasoninsd will ALWAYS be cabbing ! It just wouldn't seem right if Jason wasn't cabbing Somewhere there's a picture of some old geezer cabbing, maybe Jason can find it. Patty
I missed this! Happy Birthday a little late!

Susand24224, I would take a few slabs for making "worry stones" for gifting. It seems that an exchange table exists at my grandson's university library where students can donate or swap "worry stones". I have all the equipment needed and can work most material. I cut on a flat lap and finish in a UV-18 vibe. Thanks for what you might send and I don't mind paying shipping. Victor, I sent you a message, but just in case--I can send slabettes, preforms or a combination, whichever you prefer. To realrockhound and Liveoak, I only sent fifteen but will send the other five to both of you in the next several days. Whew! Next contest may be whoever comes up with the quickest way to prepare multiple cabs for mailing!

I wanted to send a big thank you Susan for the pre-forms.
We had great fun looking at them on Christmas morning.
And in the spirit of your upcoming poetry contest :
Looked under the Christmas Tree And what did I find But wheels and tumblers
and new rocks of all kinds.
Hope you had a nice Christmas as well.
I'm looking to grind some of these. Thanks again,
Patty

I got a box full of agate/jasper end cuts, some petrified woods and a small piece of dino bone (I guess) from susand24224 They will make many beautiful tumbles. Thanks again Susan! My new Rebel 17 will hopefully arrive on the first day of 2023. Must be a happy new tumbling year!

Pebblesky and realrockhound, you are both quite welcome! Part of my happy New Year will be seeing what you create.

Hey susand24224 they arrived! From the tracking history it looks like they took a detour to Alaska before coming back down to the lower 48 π They all arrived in good shape minus the Noreena that split, but I've been working a lot with Noreena lately and that is pretty normal. Not due to packaging. Thanks again for hosting the competition! Heres a picture for your inspection since I know you were wondering how the packaging worked etc. And to make everyone else jealous of course π

Thanks for the update--I hope there are some there that you can use. Yours isn't the only one that detoured through Alaska; either the post office was "dreaming" or perhaps there were weather issues on the usual route. One out of 25 isn't bad!
