I normally do not like a bunch of silver pushed over the stone but went for it on this one. Used a heavy gauge bail as well and think it matches up nicely. Stone is 1" diameter. Luckily the cab was a near perfect circle and girdle height was very even. This bezel setting would have really showed and deviations. Thanks for looking Chuck

I like it. A different style. Like he's got a hoodie on and is peeking out. :-) Could have a whole series of these.

That's a beauty, Chuck! I like the silver pushed over the stone on it, too.

I know all of us members are all into rocks, and for the most part members seem to want the stone taking center stage. I actually like the fact the bezel looks "beefy" in this piece. I think every once in awhile it's okay for a stone to take the backseat to a setting or wrap - if the stone allows it. I'm not saying the stone in this piece is overpowered by the setting at all. I think it looks very well-balanced. Great job on this Chuck!

mgrets - I did use my belt sander on the bezel on this one and it worked well. Have to go a bit slow or it heats up really quick but it worked. Thanks for that idea. I used my rotary cutter first so there was only 1/32 to 1/16 of bezel to sand. This combo should work out good. Chuck

Gorgeous stone and setting! I love silver so I really like this look. So much of the lovely stone still showing and the silver just makes it pop. I have some leopard agate at home - is that the same thing? I have one piece tumbling right now so not sure if it will look the same or not.

Beautifully done. Your straight-on photo gives your setting the look of a traditional/classical cab dome (with no girdle transition).

I very much like that look!! Looks like it was a beast to do! For some reason this one was fairly easy. Things just went smooth I suppose. I've now made 6 in the last week which is normally more then I do in a year so I finally figured out a few things that are helping. This one is my favorite of the bunch though. Chuck

I'm not saying the number of likes your post has garnered is anything to behold, but it seems you've created something very beautiful and approachable to many different tastes.
I like the thicker look of it, something you want to hold onto.
