herb that's very beautiful and I can totally see how it could turn out to be cycad. I've seen cycad from the Henry mountain area and it was kinda similar to yours, it's also rare from that area. I think coprolite is probably the default guess for your specimen. Just south of the Henrys is the mecca for coprolite gathering.

If it is not poop you should be able to see wood cells under high magnification. See if a local high school or college has a microscope. The Geology department as a college/University should have something. I finally managed to dig out my old microscope I had in high school. I was only able to look at the slab at 200x magnification because the thickness of the slab prevented me being able to get it in focus at higher magnification. I'm guessing if they were there I would have been able to see signs of cells at 200x.
