Found it: At the 11:50 mark of this 2022 contest video, the 2 tumblers note that 1 of the “rocks” appears to be concrete. 😀

also, yeah, i found sam, too - about 5:16 here:
(though even earlier in the video, he'd pegged one as looking like limestone - probably the same one! =)

There is a jewelry grade concrete for making concrete jewelry. see ETSY. Serious.

I think the rock last year is something called Lahontan agate. Does anyone here know where I might be able to get a few pounds of this rock? I’d like to try tumbling some of it.

I’d like to try tumbling some of it. i would contact the Tar River folks and ask them if they have any more left? (a brief search didn't turn up anything very promising.) if they don't have any, they might be able to tell you where they collected it.
