Date: January 01. 2023
Weather: Sunny, clear sky, 47°F
Destination: The litte stream Nudelgraben in the Ammergebirge, Sylvensteinspeicher, "Naturregion Oberes Isartal", Rißbach
Yes... I'm alive.
First stop: By now an old friend... the Nudelgraben.
After that little adventure I made my way back to take one of the bigger stones that I've dug up on previous trips back to the car.
... to find out that the second, empty, normal sized backpack I had brought for just that purpose had to small of an opening for any of them to fit through.
So I went back to the car, got my large backpack out and went there again.
... to find out that only one of the stones barely made it through the opening of that backpack.
Maybe I need to figure out different method of transportation in the future...
Yes, I did carry it all the way back to my car originally and that was a long way which included climbing and walking on small, uneven trails but that's how it is.
So what do you do when you had a nice trip and it's still kinda early in the day?
It was... magical.
Sylvenstein was beautifully lit, but the further I mad my way into the "Naturregion Oberes Isartal" the colder and less sunny it got... and there was still snow!
Made a stop at a parking spot and explored the area for some nice stones and the serene nature in a completely different light.
To complete this beautiful day I swung by Rißbach for a few more pictures and at around 3pm I made my way back home.
Fantastic start into 2023!
I wish all of you health, happiness, success, joy and all the fun one can ask for!
Enjoy your time!

Yes... I'm alive.
After returning from my trip to Malaysia (which was great!), I had to take care of a lot of stuff and sort other ppls. problems
(as I always tend to get stuck in, cos I simply care too much... bit of a personal weakness),
which prevented - very effectively - me going out on any trips through the whole of December.
Needless to say... not a great time.
So what do you do to break the cycle in the new year?
You go to bed early and jump out of bed with a simile on new year`s day to enjoy a beautiful day in nature!
Arrived there for sunrise. Pics document nicely when the sun finally peaked over the mountains to paint the valleys and forests with light.
Was a great little trip. Collected some stones and stumbled upon a mudslide.
I know that I have to tread carefully in that region as the ground sometimes can just "swallow" you whole boot, so I approached with caution.
Testing: Boot gone. Long stick? Also gone... O.OProceeded very carefully on the opposite side for some more pictures.

Note: There is no picture of that stone in a washed and brushed state as it's still in that very backpack in my car.
Turns out that if a stone barely fits into und fills out almost your complete backpack... it's kinda heavy.
So A. I am not sure where I would put it in my flat and B. I dread carrying that thing up all the stairs to my apartment.Yes, I did carry it all the way back to my car originally and that was a long way which included climbing and walking on small, uneven trails but that's how it is.

Have another one!
Drove to Sylvensteinspeicher, took some pictures at my favorite spots and from there on into the region of "Naturregion Oberes Isartal" and Rißbach.
It was... magical.
Sylvenstein was beautifully lit, but the further I mad my way into the "Naturregion Oberes Isartal" the colder and less sunny it got... and there was still snow!
Made a stop at a parking spot and explored the area for some nice stones and the serene nature in a completely different light.
The sun was just at the boarder of peaking over the mountain for the most time and then at some point,
for about 10 minutes it actually bathed the whole valley in light and warmth only to quickly hide again behind the mountain.
...which made it very obvious why some of those valleys are still covered in snow and others are completely snow-free.
To complete this beautiful day I swung by Rißbach for a few more pictures and at around 3pm I made my way back home.
Fantastic start into 2023!
I wish all of you health, happiness, success, joy and all the fun one can ask for!
And for my self? Being able to go on many, many more amazing trips this year.
Enjoy your time!
