Also do they have the same quietness? Where are reputable companies to buy grit and tumbler that will do a great job?

Very similar in noise level. Very similar in quality of build. If you are looking at the 3 pound barrel tumblers my experience has been that the Lortone barrels seal up better with less leaks.

Chuck Thanks! I was looking at a big Thumler one. It is metal with a rubber lining. Would that be much louder than my double 3lb Lodestone? I have no experience with bigger ones and wonder if they are too loud for my apartment…

I run the big Thumler's Model B and it is loud in the sense that I can hear it when I'm in the basement (where my rock shop is located). When I'm upstairs I can't hear it at all even when I'm in the room right above it. That being said I currently run 5 machines so there is some noise with it (Not ear plug level). There are ways to help "soundproof" tumblers as well.

It is louder then a 33B just due to the volume of rocks and larger diameter barrels have a larger rise and fall within them. That being said they are also more efficient at grinding rocks for that same reason. Chuck

Chuck I built a pine box and lined it with felt-like noise dampening tiles with a few vent holes to let heat out. Also set the tumbler on top of the same tiles. Made a huge difference.

Hi Drummond, that looks like you have modified your DP machine to pressure water spray. I'd like to do that to my Titan, can you advise me of the spray nozzles you used? Are they threaded into the housing? I take it those manifolds are fish tank related?
Thanks, Gene
